On June 22nd, 2017, last week Thursday, hotel workers from Chicago, Boston, and Vancouver joined the hotel workers and allies in Toronto for a rally & march in front of the Fairmont Royal York, marched down Front Street (during rush hour!), and headed to the Renaissance hotel right beside the Rogers Centre. 2017 hotel workers bargaining begins now, and they are proud to lead the way as the first UNITE HERE city up for negotiations.
This wasn’t the first time I went to Local 75 rally, but it was one of the biggest and loudest I have seen in a while. There were a at least a few hundred people there marching all at once. It was great to see people of all kinds come together and unite for what they believe in.
