Bringing Visions To Life

2019 Raptors Championship Parade

What a time it is to be alive as a Toronto Raptors fan, a basketball fan, and as a Canadian. After 24 years and the first team outside of the USA, a Canadian team has won the NBA championship. This was a long time coming for Toronto Raptors fans.

On Thursday June 13, 2019 the Raptors won their first NBA championship in game 6 in Oakland, California against the Golden State Warriors, the defending champs. After the victory, Raptors fans all over started celebrating through the night and into the morning. But the real celebration for the fans didn’t come until the following Monday June 17th, for the Raptors celebration parade in Toronto.

Over 2 million people packed the streets of the downtown core of Toronto. People had come from all over just to get a glimpse of the players and be part of the celebration. It was so packed that there was barely to no room at all to move around at Nathan Phillips Square and the parade route it self. There was a lot to be said on what measures could have been taken to make the parade better but overall people enjoyed the day. The crowds were singing O Canada, chanting We The North, and MVP chants when they saw Kawhi Leonard, just to name a few.

Hopefully this is the first of many celebrations for the city of Toronto and Canada as a whole.
